Welcome
The Medical Centre is here to provide you with an efficient, friendly, caring and confidential medical service during your time as a student. Are you thinking about your health?
Student Medical Centre
The student centre provides on-campus medical and nursing care to currently registered students of the National University of Ireland, Maynooth and St. Patrick’s College, Maynooth. Staff of the student medical centre provides a service within the ethos of respect, courtesy and confidentiality and aim at all times to operate within the highest professional standards. The service is envisaged as an addition to the student’s own family doctor or specialist medical service. It operates within resource constraints so certain service limitations apply. Students should continue to attend their own general practitioner, especially if locally based.
The student medical centre regrets that due to resource constraints, we are unable to see all students who request a same day appointment. We will endeavour to accommodate students through our triage system within the resources available.
We ask that you assist us in the following ways:
1. As the student medical centre is a limited service, all students are recommended to register with a local general practitioner.
2. We request that you only use the daily Walk In clinic 9.30am-10.30am when you are acutely unwell and not for on-going problems.
3. A list of alternative options is provided by the service when we are unable to facilitate you.
4. Please be aware that when you are seen as an urgent appointment, the doctor or nurse can only deal with the urgent problem. You will be asked to make an appointment to deal with any other problems. This is to ensure that the doctor has sufficient time to deal with them appropriately.
